Psy the Gentleman

After a supermassive worldwide hit that has helped get k-pop to the real world stage, the much anticipated follow up to Gangnam Style has finally been released to the public! As with Gangnam Style, the new tune titled Gentleman, does not come without the catchy hook and eye-catching video – two typical ingredients to the formula that makes a K-pop song so dang hard to forget.

In his suit and bowtie and crazy lyrics (even in Korean), Psy is not only trying to catch another worldwide song, but also create a new catchphrase that could be the next most recognised phrase in the Korean-English language : Mother Father Gentleman. Although the song was digitally released on the much earlier, the music video was just released this weekend and is already garnering a lot of interest from the international media, from as far reaching as the UK to the Hollywood press.

You might recognize several things about the music video – including the cast and dance move. As with Gangnam Style which was filled with stars from the k-pop scene, this new video of Psy’s is also filled with people you would recognize if you were into the Korean Entertainment scene. Comedians from the Infinity Challenge series who appeared in the most watched Youtube video, Yoo Jae Suk and Noh Hong Chul are joined by fellow member, HaHa in the new video.

As with Gangnam Style, Psy also did not forget to include a HOT girl in the form of Ga-In (who is rumoured to be starting her solo endevours soon). As somewhat of a tribute to what was K-pop’s most sexy dance move, the Sigeonbang chum, or better known in English as the Saucy song, was used by the party mafia as the signature dance move in this song. His hip swaying can be rivalled as he performs this amongst a bevy of beauties in various Korean locations.

We love the catchiness of the tune and can’t wait to see how it fares in the world. Would you start doing the aggressive Saucy dance moves? Will we finally understand what he meant by Mother Father Gentleman? Only time will tell! In the meantime, here is the video in it's full glory.
