2NE1, 2PM and SNSD won MTV VMA Japan

26 Jun – It was revealed that YG Entertainment's 2NE1, SMEnt's SNSD and JYPE's 2PM were among the winners of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

As reported by Kpopstarz website, the three groups have won "Best Group", "Best New Artist Video" and "Best Album of the Year" respectively. 2PM took the award for "Best Group Video" for their Japanese track, "I'm Your Man," which was released on August 2011 as the group's 2nd Japanese single, beating other nominees such as Monkey Majik, Maroon5, Ikimono-gakari and Coldplay.

2NE1's "I am the Best" won "Best New Artist Video" after going against other international stars such as LMFAO, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, James Blake and fellow K-Pop group, CNBLUE.

The girls of 2NE1 thanked their fans and staff and also performed "I am the Best," and "Scream" on stage.

Meanwhile, despite not being able to attend the event due to conflicting schedule, SM Entertainment girl group, SNSD also took home one of the biggest award of the night for "Best Album of the Year" for their 1st Japanese self-titled album released in June 2011 beating the likes of Lady Gaga, fellow K-Pop artist KARA, JUJU and Coldplay.
