10 May – Not only has "Tezz" failed to find box office gold despite all the hype, but it has also brought about discontentment between its star Ajay Devgn and director Priyadarshan behind-the-scenes, with future partnerships unlikely.
According to a source from Masala, Priyadarshan had to apologise to the 49-year-old superstar for the dismal performance of their latest action-thriller collaboration, but the "Singham" star was not quite convinced by the sentiment and was said to be embarrassed for being marketed as the main draw of the film.
Reportedly, the main reason for their argument was Devgn's displeasure with how the final product had turned out to be, which he claimed was not the version that was pitched to him before film's production commenced.
This was the second consecutive film that had flopped in the box office since their previous collaboration on "Aakrosh" but no ill will was generated between them then, as the actor stood by a script that stayed true in the final product.
"Tezz" stars Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut, Zayed Khan, Sameera Reddy, Boman Irani, Avika Gor and Mohanlal, and is currently showing in Malaysian cinemas.
