1 Oct – It was revealed that Andy Lau was offered to play the lead role in the highly anticipated thriller, "Cold War" but stepped down due to personal time constraints.
As reported on Popular Asians, the actor, who makes a special guest appearance in the new police thriller as the Secretary of Security for the Hong Kong Security Bureau, stated, "I was very attracted to the story and I wanted to be the lead actor. However, due to time constraints caused by my daughter's birth, I just have no time to play the lead."
The actor added that he then decided to step down from the leading role and guest star in the film instead.
Meanwhile, Andy stated that the film – starring Tony Leung, Aaron Kwok and Aarif Lee attracted him so much that he was compelled to be more involved in the production. The actor was quoted saying, "The executive, producer, director, and actors are all very passionate about Hong Kong style movies and want to keep doing so. I want to be a big part of it. I will never give up on Hong Kong movies."
