7 October – One of Hollywood's most controversial star, Golden Globe Award winner Sacha Baron Cohen, is set to take on yet another strange and provocative project, which is a comedy tentatively titled "The Lesbian", according to Empire Online.
The film is said to be inspired by the real-life story of Hong Kong tycoon Cecil Chao, who made a buzz in the media when he offered $65million to the public if they could find a man who could win the heart of his daughter Gigi Chao and marry her, as she is a known lesbian.
It was reported that Gigi, 33, had previously ran away to France with her long-time partner Sean Eve, 45, and their relationship was blessed by a French church.
When asked about her father's eccentric offer, Gigi claimed that it does not upset her.
"I'm actually on very, very loving terms with my father. We speak on a daily basis. He just has a very interesting way of expressing his fatherly love," said Gigi.
"The Lesbian" will be produced by Cohen and his production company, Four By Two. Currently, no writer has been attached to comedy yet.
In the meantime, fans will next see Cohen playing the role of Thénardier in Tom Hooper's British musical drama film, "Les Misérables".
