Where would we be without our smart phones?! Here at gurgle HQ, if there’s an app that can help organise our already hectic lives, we’ve probably got it. And there are hundreds of great apps that can make parenting easier too.
New apps are released all the time, and there are so many it’s hard to keep up. So here is a quick round-up of the best parenting apps that have been released recently. We’ve done the hard work, so you don’t have to!
Plum Baby Weaning App (Free)
Plum has launched their first weaning app, perfect for busy mums. This app is unique as it gives parents access to the Plum recipes so that parents can make their own versions of Plum meals at home! The app also gives parents hints and tips about the weaning process with their baby in a handy guide. The Life Guide is a crowd-sourced weaning aid and has gathered the opinion of over 180 of the top mummy bloggers and academics to provide hints, tips and stories to help new mums make up their own minds on what’s best for their baby.
We think this app is ideal for mum’s preparing to embark on the tricky weaning process, because as well as being informative, it’s also fun and easy to use!

The premise of this app is simple, but can help take the stress out of a pretty stressful situation! Emla make a local anesthetic cream, and their app is designed to keep track of the important immunisation dates for up to eight children.
The free app also offers helpful advice and tips on coping with routine immunisations, including planning suggestions and distraction techniques. And to make sure parents have a record of their most precious moments, the milestones function allows you to save photos or video clips, along with notes, within the calendar – ideal for recording their first steps, first words or even just a funny memory of something they’ve said that you’d like to remember.

Make Time to Play App (Free)
The British Toy and Hobby Association have launched this fantastic app for parents that are stuck for ideas when it comes to playing with their children.
The app is designed to give parents a bank of play ideas for each day of the year, offering them a quick and easy way of making time to play. It includes tips and ideas for playing indoors, outdoors, and even on the move!
Parents can choose to tailor ideas to their children’s ages, the number of kids playing, and where they’re playing. What’s more, if the first idea that pops up isn’t the best option, then parents just needs to shake their mobile until it lands on a play idea that is right for their family: Genius!
