"Bullet Brain" bad luck for "No Reserve"

27 May – Following TVB's announcement that "Will Power" has been chosen to be this year's anniversary dramas, questions were raised as to why the third instalment of the popular "Rosy Business" franchise, "No Reserve", was not selected as well.

According to Asianpopnews, it was recently rumoured that the station has decided to remove "No Reserve" from the anniversary schedule specifically due to the drama sharing the same production crew as the badly rated "Bullet Brain".

TVB's "Bullet Brain" suffered embarrassing ratings during its scheduled airtime earlier, despite the performance of three-time TV King, Wayne Lai. The confusing plot and the uninspiring performance from lead actress Sire Ma were among the reasons given by viewers as to why the show was badly received.

With such record, TVB was worried that producer Lee Tim Shing's upcoming project, "No Reserve", also starring Wayne Lai, may face the same issues, despite the success of its predecessors.

Meanwhile, lead actress, Myolie Wu, who is already stressed with filming and the need to perform as well as the franchise's former lead, Sheren Tang, was reportedly disappointed with the news, as it diminishes her chance of winning the Best Actress award at the TVB Anniversary Awards.

"No Reserve" is scheduled to air in 2014.
