KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — PKR will leave it to PAS to decide on how many seats it can contest in Terengganu for the next general election, Azan Ismail said today.
The Terengganu PKR chief was responding to remarks made by PAS central education chairman Datuk Abu Bakar Chik, who yesterday said that PAS was stronger than PKR in the state.
The PAS leader reported said the Islamist party would only allow PKR to contest not more than seven seats the in general election- five state seats and two parliamentary seats.
“If they (PAS) feel we are like beggars, we will accept what they give us. What can we say because he (Abu Bakar) thinks his is better, stronger than us.
“I am surprised by this is being made by the PAS education director and not by its leadership,” Azan was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying.
The Terengganu PKR leadership recently announced plans to contest 11 state seats and three parliamentary seats, but the proposal has been shot down by PAS leaders.
