Carina Lau denies rumours of surrogacy

11 Jun – Actress Carina Lau recently dismissed rumours that she and her husband Tony Leung Chiu-Wai are opting to get a surrogate to have their children.

TVB News World reported that the 47-year-old actress, who attended the Hong Kong Ballet fundraiser on 7 June, dismissed the rumours as pure speculations, and revealed that if she wanted to have a child, she would have one on her own.

"I wouldn't judge others with my own values or life attitude," the actress expressed. "We are very happy, with or without children. With the technological advancements now it can absolutely be done."

When asked if she would ever consider artificial insemination, Carina answered in the negative, and added, "We don't have to have a child, now we are very happy too. Actually I am not very patient. I can play with Li Yan (Faye Wong's daughter) for a little then I am fine. If you keep this up then it's hard to say."

The "Bends" actress also admitted that she enjoys her life with Tony and even learnt to enjoy her alone time.
