Carina Lau launches three new restaurants

18 Sep – Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, who is known for her entrepreneurial skills, recently launched her three new restaurants simultaneously.

China Broadcast website reported that on 12 September, the "Bends" actress appeared at the ribbon-cutting ceremony dressed elegantly, with her man Tony Leung Chiu-Wai by her side, which disproved recent rumours of their alleged conflict.

The 47-year-old actress, who once expressed her desire to build her own restaurant empire, has recently invested a seven figure sum towards opening a Japanese eatery, a Spanish restaurant, and a new bar.

During a wine-tasting session at the event, the actress revealed, "It took me a year and a lot of money to finally make it happen, but it doesn't mean that I am planning to retire from the movie industry. Today is the day I can finally launch the restaurants. I am waiting until everything is prepared before I invite 'his lordship' (Tony Leung) to a tasting."

When asked if he was involved in the investment, Tony light-heartedly answered, "No, of course not. I know nothing about business. I am pretty dumb and only know how to act. I can only make money to save or buy properties, but I don't know how and have no interest to invest [this way]."

In regards to her next business venture, Carina expressed her desire to make more money in movies, saying, "I'm already married to a Best Actor, and have friends in the industry, so producing would be a piece of cake."
