Carina Lau is motivated by her Outstanding Asian Actress award

25 Mar – Winning the Outstanding Asian Actress award at the Asian Film Award Special Awards Ceremony recently gave Carina Lau the motivation to become a better artiste.

Mingpao reported that the actress, who was at the event with fellow recipient, Donnie Yen, expressed her happiness with the recognition awarded to her, and said, "It gives me the motivation to perform even better in future!"

However, the actress denied that she will be filming a lot of movies because of it, saying, "Though success requires giving, giving too much does not equal to success."

Meanwhile, the actress was also revealed to be one of the jury members for the Asian Film Awards.

When asked if she would favour her husband, Tony Leung, who is nominated for Best Actor for his role in "The Grandmaster", Carina said, "I will be fair and objective. Even when I watch his films with him in private, I would be as neutral as possible."

She added that the actor is already known for his quality performance and that he doesn't need an award to prove it.

In regards to Tony's competition, Lee Kang-sheng, who defeated him for Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards recently for his role in "Stray Dogs", Carina said, "Lee performs really well in the movie. It was not an easy role to play."
