Thursday night saw us braving the torrential rain and thunder storms to run through Soho and into the warmth of sumptuous Coco de Mer to view what we’ll be putting on our naughty-but-nice lists come autumn.
Coco de Mer has long been our first port of call for grown-up glamour, lingerie, bedroom accessories and inspiration on lonely nights and we weren’t disappointed with next season’s offerings. Upon entering we encountered a beautiful lace body suit that had us ‘oohing’ and ‘aahing’ in appreciation and set the bar for the rest of the ranges.
A glass of champagne in hand we viewed the brilliant new brands coming on board, many of them born and bred in England – who knew the English and their stiff upper lips could produce such erotic designs.
While the Jenny Packham silk and velvet nightwear had us dreaming of wafting around a Paris apartment playing the role of innocent ingénue the pieces on display from new brand Fraulein Kink were the highlights of the night. The perfect blend of sex and fashion, this label is incredibly sexy yet feminine with designs made to be worn in and out of the bedroom. We can see the fringed head piece turning up in the most editorial of fashion mags while the layered fringe hand and ankle cuffs would be a welcome addition to our bottom drawers, well, a girl can never have too much fringing.
