Daniel Henney Becomes First Korean Actor to Win an Award Through Hollywood Movie

Daniel Henney’s Hollywood movie, Shanghai Calling was not only screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival recently , but he has also received an award for the movie.

On April 26, Daniel Henney became the recipient of the 13th New Port Beach Film Festival’s Outstanding Achievement Award for his acting in Shanghai Calling. By receiving the award, it marked the first time a Korean or Korean descent actor had won an acting award abroad for a Hollywood movie.



During the film festival, Shanghai Calling was screened at the film festival’s closing night. Shanghai Calling is about an American expatriate, Sam (played by Daniel Henney) who is sent to Shanghai, China to live and work. While adjusting to his new life there, and overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers, Sam begins to experience a new outlook on life and romance.

Daniel Henney will also be acting in the upcoming Hollywood movie, Last Stand as an FBI agent.
