Replacing Karl Lagerfeld as the designer of Diet Coke’s limited edition collection bottles was always going to be tough – but Jean Paul Gaultier has nailed it.
The whimsical designer has re-interpreted his most iconic designs and style signatures to create two quirky bottles – one for day and one for night.
Inspired by Gaultier’s signature Breton stripes, the ‘Day’ bottle has a romantic nautical theme, featuring a nod to JPG’s sailor muse in the form of a star tattoo, plus a shiny red cap that doubles as a chic beret. Magnifique!
The ‘Night’ bottle however, carries a little more edge. Working a rock chick vibe the silhouette-shaped bottle is dressed up in lace and fishnet, with a provocative corset reminiscent of Gaultier’s iconic cone bra design.
Both the Night and Day bottles are available from Harvey Nichols stores as of Monday 16th April, while a third limited edition design called Tattoo will join the collection later in the year.
