In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Gwen Stefani revealed that her husband Gavin Rossdale likes her to wear make-up all the time - even when she’s relaxing in-front of the TV!
She said: “I like to make my husband like me more, and he likes it when I’m wearing makeup.”
The 42-year-old mother of two told the interviewer: “I already out my make-up on twice today: I put it on to take my kid to school, and then I went home, washed my face, and put it on again to have lunch with you.”
At first we were shocked by Gwen’s confession, but new research by beauty retailer Escentual.com suggests Gavin isn’t the only one who likes his partner to be coated in a layer of slap.
In a new survey, nearly three quarters (73%) of British males said they prefer their partner with make-up on, even in their downtime.
However, there’s still hope for our poor-skin yet because 21% of men revealed they only like women dolled-up for special occasions and 6% of men said they love the bare-faced/natural look.
At first we worried that British men had become accustomed to the high-maintenance TOWIE look, but the people at Escentuals believe there’s a different explanation.
Beauty Editor at Escentual.com, Emma Leslie, told us: “It doesn’t surprise me that men prefer their partners with make-up on, there;s nothing more sexy than a confident woman, and make-up – even if just a bit of mascara or cover-up- can make a woman feel so much more empowered.”
So, if men love make-up as much as they say they do, what’s their favourite look? According to the same survey a Mila Kunis-style smoky eye is the most attractive look on a woman, followed by a bright lip colour and an even skin-tone.
Even if we wanted to wear make-up all the time, it’s not good for your skin to wear heavy foundation and pore-clogging powders all the time. We recommend doing what suits you best and don’t let what he prefers dictate your beauty regime!
