Donnie Yen celebrates birthday with cast and crew
25 Jul – "Last Of The Best" director, Teddy Chan, recently brought out a birthday cake at the blessing ceremony of their new movie, specially made for Donnie Yen's 50th birthday, as reported on Ming Pao.
The actor, whose birthday falls on 27 July, was ecstatic to be able to celebrate his day with the cast and crew, which also include Charlie Yeung, Alex Fong, Bai Bing, and Wang Baoqiang.
The actor enthused, "I only have a few occasions in a year where I don't work; my wife's birthday, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. But I will definitely stop all my work on my birthday. We can't be working every day, can we?"
Playing the role of a former Police Academy martial arts instructor in the upcoming film "Last Of The Best", Donnie explained that the movie will pay tribute to past action masters.
Meanwhile, Alex Fong expressed his excitement at being able to work with Charlie Yeung, saying, "I remember when I started my career, I had filmed with Charlie once in a music video where I play the male lead. She still looks the same, still so pretty."
