Edmond Wong too busy to direct "Ip Man 3"

23 Jul – Screenwriter Edmond Wong, son of director-producer Raymond Wong, recently dismissed rumours of a conflict with actor Donnie Yen.

As reported on Groove Asia, Edmond, who made an appearance at the Hong Kong Book Fair recently, revealed that he is in the midst of writing a movie with Louis Koo or Donnie Yen in mind as the lead character.

He stated, "Donnie and I are okay. If he agrees to star in this new movie, we will make it action-packed."

Previously, it was rumoured that the third instalment of the "Ip Man" franchise may not be realised after Raymond decided to replace original director Wilson Chin with his son, Edmond.

It was reported that the decision resulted in Donnie's withdrawal, due to his loyalty to Wilson.

However, Edmond dismissed the rumour, saying that he has no plans to direct a big movie at the moment and is busy preparing for his wedding.
