Ekin Cheng and Lin Chi-ling named Worst Actors

22 Jul – Hong Kong actor Ekin Cheng and Taiwanese model-actress Lin Chi-ling have recently been named the Worst Actor and Actress of the first half of 2013, according to Yes Entertainment.

A Mainland China site recently conducted a survey for the 10 worst Chinese films of the first half of the year. Movies that were listed include Julian Cheung's "Natural Born Lovers", Michelle Chen's "Badges Of Fury", and Ko Chen-Tung's "Tiny Times".

An unexpected entry in the list was Wong Kar-wai's "The Grandmaster", which came in fifth, while the most unsurprising winner of the Worst Film was Andy Lau's "Switch", with many claimed to make no sense, what with the absurd action sequences.

Lin Chi-ling, who had high hopes for "Switch" as her shot to fame, received almost 2000 votes in favour of her as the Worst Actress, with comments saying that even her beauty was not able to save the bad movies she participated in.

Meanwhile, Ekin Cheng received 4000 votes for Worst Actor, almost half of the total was for his performance in "Saving General Yang", with voters claiming that he has no expression and likened him to stone-faced actors such as Aaron Kwok and Donnie Yen.
