1 Oct – While the ongoing divorce battle between Universe International Chairman, Daneil Lam and his former wife Chui Shuet Ying are attracting media frenzy with the scandalous disclosure about Lam's attempt to use actress Rain Li for his clients' pleasure, TVB actress Elanne Kwong continues to vouch for her boss' innocence.
According to Popular Asians website, the 24-year-old actress – who was once accused of being the third wheel in Lam and Chui's marriage, said that she refuses to believe the rumour and faithfully stands by Lam's side.
On 27 September, the actress expressed her surprise when the rumour of Lam coercing Rain Li to provide sexual services for his clients emerged and stated, "It could not have happened! The contract is clear that it would be unnecessary to participate in activities unrelated to work."
The actress also supported her boss, saying that, "If I know Mr. Lam well, he would never ask artistes to do such things. When people that I do not know well force me to drink at events, Mr. Lam will ask my manager to take me home."
The actress also denied having been offered any indecent proposals since joining the industry, humorously implying that she has no "market" for such field.
Elanne Kwong was once rumoured to have had an affair with Daneil Lam ever since she first joined Universe International, so much so that Chui herself once met with her to get the truth about the rumours during her divorce case in 2008.
