Eric Tsang: Grace Chan is not a typical Miss Hong Kong winner

7 Sep – Actor Eric Tsang recently commented that the Miss Hong Kong 2013 winner Grace Chan nearly lost the title because of her body image.

As reported on Oriental Daily website, on 3 September, the pageant's most critical celebrity voter shared his views about the latest winner, saying that the panel originally thought that Grace, who was nicknamed "Flat-chested Miss Hong Kong", may not win due to her skinny physique.

Eric stated, "I do agree that her physique could have cost her the title. She really is photogenic, but if we were to follow traditional standards, runner-ups Sisley Choi or Moon Lau would have had better chance of winning."

He added, "There can be no appeals regarding the results though, since it was decided through popularity votes."

Meanwhile, the new Miss Hong Kong recently gave her two cents about the Hong Kong's Chief Executive Elections, saying that she is supportive of a more democratic voting process. However, the comments were cut before the segment aired due to its controversial nature.

In regards to this incident, Eric stated, "I don't know about this, but I do think that Miss Hong Kong should not become involved in politics."
