Eric Tsang regrets not visiting Lau Kar Leung often

1 Jul – Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang recently expressed his regrets for not visiting the late martial arts star, Lau Kar Leung regularly while he was still alive.

According to Groove Asia website, the actor who appeared at the Taiwanese talk show, "Here Comes Kangxi" a few days ago, stated that his last visit to see Lau was six months ago, saying that he stopped when the doctors advised against frequent visits.

"I broke down when they told me that he died on the 25th of June," he expressed.

The 60-year-old actor also shared, "Lau was the one who introduced me into the industry. He saw my ability and made me his assistant. He really trusted me at that time and would assign me with many important tasks. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him."

The actor was so grateful for the martial arts legend's contribution to his success, that he openly thanked him at his 60th birthday banquet last April, even calling Lau the most important person in his life.

Eric revealed that Lau's widow, Mary Jean Reimer had already contacted him to help with the funeral and that he will be attending Lau's memorial service that will be held at the end of July.

Eric also intends to remake some of Lau's classic films, to commemorate the bountiful life of his beloved mentor.
