Esther Kwan says she is not a strict mother but a devoted one
3 Sep – She registered her daughter to an international school, takes her to numerous enrichment classes and never leaves her side. So it is no wonder that TVB actress Esther Kwan is perceived as a 'Tiger Mum'.
The "Always and Ever" actress, however, never considered herself as one, and insisted that she was only giving her daughter, Brittany the basic education needed for a young child.
According to HK Channel website, the actress stated, "Children need to be guided and taught at a young age. Even if something bad happened, that particular incident can also be an opportunity to teach the child how to face situations positively."
She continued, "If I am not with her at all times, I will never get the chance to teach and explain to her. [Nick and I] really love children, but what use is it for us to become parents if we leave our daughter to someone else's care? I really don't want to lose the opportunity to watch my daughter grow."
When asked if she would allow her daughter to watch husband Nick Cheung's films, Esther stated that she would only let Brittany watch movies that she deemed appropriate.
However, the actress added that she may not take her daughter to watch Nick's directorial debut, "Yu Lan Magic" for fear that the horror movie will scare Brittany.
