Francis Ng will not turn down roles for son

11 Nov – Francis Ng stressed that he will not reject antihero roles to maintain his image as a good father, reported Sina website.

The 51-year-old actor recently discussed his role as a vengeful father in his latest film "Pay Back", and said that it was his most challenging role to date.

In the movie, Francis plays an everyday man pushed by desperation and anger to seek revenge when his wife dies from depression after their daughter was found to be raped and murdered.

When asked if he is worried that his son will be affected by his role in the movie, Francis said, "Feynman is only a child. All I have to do is buy him a new toy!"

"I will not reject antihero roles just so I can keep my image of a 'good' father. Film and reality cannot get mixed up with one another," added the actor.

It was also rumoured that Francis has been very quiet unlike his usual self on the set of the movie, supposedly to immerse himself in the role. But the actor laughed at the rumour and joked, "The set was too hot and I was just too lazy to talk. But I had a lot of fun talking to a lot of girls."

"Pay Back" is slated to be released on 21 November in Hong Kong cinemas, and also stars Fan Siu Wong, Deng Ziyi, and Lam Suet.
