Gemma Arterton struggles to control her sarcastic nature.
The actress has to be careful because some of her statements don’t translate well.
She was raised in an open and honest environment and had to learn to reign herself in.
“Where I come from, my background, my family, they’re really honest people. When I started [giving interviews] I’d be like, ‘Oh yeah mate, when I was down the pub the other night…’ But you learn to protect yourself. I’ve learnt that sarcasm isn’t best written down. Which is a shame because I’m really sarky. You can’t always be honest. I won’t lie but it’s about not revealing everything. Which is really hard for me,” she told Love magazine.
Gemma also said that while she likes exploring new cities, she won’t leave London.
Although her work frequently takes her to Los Angeles, Gemma would miss her family too much if she moved.
“I like to get lost in a place. Maybe I don’t know it [Los Angeles] well enough. I could do New York, but I’d miss London so much. I’ve been thinking about it but… it’s my family, you know?” she said.
