23 Oct – After much speculations from the media about the father of her daughter, veteran Taiwanese singer Jenny Tseng finally admitted that Melody is indeed the daughter with her late husband, Alexander Fu.
Groove Asia website reported that in a talk show, "Mei Wei Sheng Huo", the 59-year-old singer confirmed that her daughter, Melody was conceived via artificial insemination after his death – using the banked sperm of her husband.
According to sources, Jenny Tseng went to the US and gave birth to Melody in secret, four years after Alexander Fu died in a car crash in 1983. They were childless after less than a decade of marriage and had faced four miscarriages before the tragedy occurred.
The singer's daughter Melody is said to resemble her father in many ways, especially her face shape, eyes and jaw line. Despite not knowing who her father was for 25 years, Melody once shared that she is satisfied with her life and her mother's love.
