16 Aug – TVB actor Joel Chan has proposed to his heiress girlfriend Florinda Ho, and they are planning to hold their wedding by early 2013.
According to Jayne Stars, an insider had revealed that Chan had proposed to her in Portugal; the place where they first travelled together since their relationship became public in August 2011. The insider disclosed that Chan went on one knee and an extremely emotional Florinda said 'Yes'.
Florinda acknowledged that Chan had proposed to her on her blog, but did not share any plans of a wedding to be held by the end of this year or next year.
"I read a very funny joke today. Did everyone read it? I don't want to deny it, but acknowledge it instead. I don't like those types of fairy-tale-television-style proposals! Getting on one knee, roses, crying – that is not my style at all! You guys don't understand me at all!" she wrote.
Florinda's parents; gambling tycoon Stanley Ho and his wife Chan Yuen Chun had mixed feelings about their daughter's wedding. Stanley was excited, but Chan was a little concerned for her 23-year-old daughter to marry someone who is 12 years her senior, and is only starting to climb the ladder in TVB as an actor.
