Following the news on popular host, Kang Ho Dong signing a contract with SM C&C and looking at a comeback within the year, it was revealed that the 3 major television stations, KBS, SBS and MBC are jockeying to sign him on to lead their programs.
A KBS TV representative revealed on August 17th, “We are currently in discussion with Kang Ho Dong over his comeback.”
The representative expressed, “Kang Ho Dong had suddenly announced his retirement and gone on a hiatus even though he was leading KBS flagship program ‘One Night 2 Days’ last September. So he is considering making a comeback through KBS. We understand that other media companies are also actively inviting him to lead their programs as well.
As for whether Kang Ho Dong will return to ‘One Night Two Days’, the representative said, “As the existing cast members are currently doing a good job with season 2 of ‘One Night Two Days’, the possibility of Kang Ho Dong joining the program is pretty low. It’s more likely that Kang Ho Dong will make a comeback through a brand new program.”
Kang Ho Dong had abruptly announced his retirement and gone on a hiatus last September before deciding to make a comeback after signing a contract with SM C&C, a subsidiary company under SM Entertainment on August 17th.
Kang Ho Dong expressed, “After going on a hiatus last year, I thought for a long time about what I should do at this time and that as a host, I should be bringing laughter to viewers through variety programs. So after thinking it over and over again, I decided to make a comeback.”
