The current trend amongst celebrities is not only to announce to the world they are having a baby (if we hadn't guessed by the bump pictures already!) but to tell everyone the sex of their unborn baby too.
By about 18-20 weeks an ultrasound scan can identify the sex of your baby, if you want to know. If you don’t want to know, it might be a good idea to tell the sonographer straight away in case you accidentally get a glimpse. If your baby is turning away from the sonographer and you can’t get a clear enough picture of it’s genitals, you may have to wait a bit longer – lots of babies don’t play by the rules.

Gary Barlow and Dawn- expecting their 4th child. The couple already have Daniel, 11, Emily, 10 and Daisy, 3. Gary has just revealed his new addition to the family will be a girl! "There's going to be another girl in the Barlow household!" he wrote on the social network site.
Mark Owen and Emma- the couple are 6 months pregnant with their third child together, due in the summer. Mark had recently come clean to Emma and the press about the many affairs he had been having whilst being part of Take That. Hopefully this baby will signify a new start for the couple.
Sienna Miller- expecting baby with boyfriend Tom Sturridge. The couple have been dating for a year and have just announced the happy news.
Robbie Williams and Ayda Fields- the newlyweds announced via his website they’d be having a baby this year! We wonder how Robbie will cope with all those sleepless nights and nappies!
Jersey Shore’s Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi- expecting a baby with boyfriend Jionni LaValle. Snooki has revealed to the world she is expecting a baby boy, due in September.
Nick Lachey and new wife Vanessa- expecting their first child, due in September. Nick has revealed the sex of the baby to be a boy!
Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth- expecting their first baby together. Reese, 35, already has two children, Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8, from her first marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe.
The Hills star Kristin Cavillari and Jay Cutler- expecting a baby boy with her Chicago bears quarterback.
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jnr- the couple already have a little girl, 2 and a half year old Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Grace, and are now expecting their second child together. The couple have already been married for 10 years.
Scream star Neve Campbell- expecting first child with partner, British actor JJ Field, whose stepfather is BBC World News editor, Jon Williams.
Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson- expecting their first baby together. Uma has two children already with ex-husband Ethan Hawke, and businessman Arpad has 2 children with supermodel Elle MacPherson.
Twighlight star Jackson Rathbone- is going to be a daddy for the first time with partner burlesque dancer Sheila Hafsadi. Jackson, who plays Jasper Cale in the series, met Sheila whilst he was touring with his band 100 Monkeys. Sheila is 5 months pregnant.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott- expecting their 4th child together. The couple already have Liam, 5, Stella, 3, and Hattie, 5 months old. Tori revealed she fell pregnant by ‘accident’ 1 month after Hattie was born. They already have a boy and two girls, so the bets will be on for the sex of the new baby!
And finally…
Drew Barrymore- it seems Drew is expecting her first child with new husband Will Kopelman, son of fomer Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman. Drew hasn’t actually officially announced her pregnancy yet, but there has been many ‘bump’ pictures in the press. Media speculation suggests she is ahving a girl. For Drew this is her third marriage, after she was wed to Welsh bar owner Jeremy Thomas between March and April 1994 and comedian Tom Green, whom she married in July 2001, but filed for divorce at the end of that year.
