Linda Evangelista and François-Henri Pinault in Court Over $46,000 Child Support: UPDATE

UPDATE 04/05/2012: After news reached us earlier this week that Linda Evangelista will meet Francois-Henri Pinault in court to agree child support for their five-year-old son, pictures have landed of the supermodel arriving at court - and we must say, she looks super chic. Sporting a floral blouse with a black knee-length skirt, accessorised with nude heels and retro-style sunglasses, Linda walked into the Manhattan courtroom yesterday oozing her trademark fashion flare with an outfit that was perfect for the drama that ensued.

Taking to the stand yesterday, the French billionaire PPR chief admitted he was 'not involved in the decision' to keep the child, although he would 'recognise the baby' as his own. According to New York Daily News, he said: 'She told me that if I didn't want to be involved in raising the kid or stay together and be parents together, she would understand. I told her that...I will take my responsibility.'

02/05/2012: Linda Evangelista and François-Henri Pinault in Court Over $46,000 Child Support Lawsuit

She famously said she wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10000 a day and now we hear Linda Evangelista is fighting for $46,000 a month for her 5-year-old son, Augustin. The supermodel and Augustin's father, François-Henri Pinault,  are set to meet in a Manhattan court room tomorrow to discuss Evangelista's petition for child support.

Evangelista never publicly named Pinault, who is Salma Hayek's husband and chairman of luxury company PPR that owns Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, as Augustin's father until attempts to come to a private support agreement failed last year. He reportedly has a personal fortune of $11.5 billion and is understood to contribute to a trust fund for his and Hayek’s 4-year-old daughter, Valentina.

However, child support isn't tied to parental income — judges have to consider how much it reasonably costs to care for a child — and Evangelista says her son needs $46,000 per month (that's $1,500 per day) for security, private school tuition, a driver, and around-the-clock nannies. 'I need to protect him,' Evangelista told Love magazine in February. As for her request for more than one nanny, the supermodel mother explained to a judge during last year's court battle that when modelling, she works 16-hour days. 'On days when I do not work, I am working on my image. I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete.'

The record for the most costly monthly child support judgment ever handed down in a New York family court is currently held by P.Diddy, who pays the mother of his son $19,000 per month. So stay tuned for more updates on the Evangelista and Pinault case…
