Liu Xuan marries boyfriend secretly in United States

11 Jul - 33-year-old athlete-turned-artiste Liu Xuan has secretly married her boyfriend. Hong Kong media said the couple registered their marriage in Las Vegas, United States.

According to The Beijing Times, Liu's boyfriend, Wang Tao, is an associate professor at the Central Conservatory Music. They are reportedly in a relationship for more than a decade.

Informed sources said Liu and Wang did not hold a wedding ceremony and neither are they taking any wedding photos to keep their marriage low profile.

Regarding the news, Liu confirmed her marriage with Wang in January this year. Asking why she purposely kept a low profile on her marriage, she replied that marriage is just a matter of two people coming together.

However, she said that she will hold her wedding ceremony earliest by next year, as required by both of their families. Talking about her family plan, she said she wishes to have a son and a daughter.

As for her future plans, she said she will be hosting some London Olympics-related programmes for CCTV.
