Makiyo splurges for beloved mother
15 May – Ever since her mother revealed that she may have only four months more to live, Taiwanese-Japanese entertainer Makiyo revealed that her mother has been living life to the fullest, and that she has been splurging on her.
According to Groove Asia, besides praying her mother's health in church, Makiyo has also pampered her with a NTD 50,000 bag (app. USD 1,600) for Mother's Day.
Showing her purchase to reporters, the singer enthused, "The bag was bought from Shanghai last week. It is called Angel bag and I think it suits my mum perfectly well."
She also revealed her plans to take her mother on a trip to Hokkaido at the end of the month but stated that her mother is still considering it due to her weak condition.
When asked about her mother's health, Makiyo said, "Mum is looking better and have been going out for meals with her friends every day. She is living happily and I hope that she will continue to battle her illness. It is really hard on her."
The entertainer's mother was recently diagnosed with the fourth stage of lung cancer and revealed that she has stopped all the chemotherapy treatment due to the side effects.
Besides stopping her chemotherapy treatment, she also has stopped eating Chinese medicine, saying, "It is hard to eat those Chinese medicines. I am eating normally and try to consume light meals. It's fine just to lead a happy life."
