31 Oct – It was reported that songstress A-Mei is planning to sue a plastic surgery hospital for using her image illegally to advertise their business. As reported on Asianpopshow website, a plastic surgery hospital in China recently posted on a picture of A-Mei at her recent concert on their Weibo page.
A promotional caption was also posted along with the illegally uploaded photo, stating, "A-Mei has become a synonym of fat. There are many girls like her who used to fit into S size but later have to switch to XL size..... We suggest that you consider Liposuction to lose weight, it is effective and fast."
Upon finding out about the damaging promotional slogan and illegal usage of her picture, A-Mei's manager responded, "The hospital's marketing statement was slanderous and serious infringement. We will take legal action against the hospital."
A-Mei has been subjected to a lot of mockery by her critics after she was seen looking plump during her performance at the grand finals of "The Voice of China". Her dramatic weight gain became a major subject in various online forums, causing the hospital to use her disadvantage to their benefit.
