14 Oct – Actor-producer Nicky Wu will be making one last attempt to increase ratings for his tragic Hunan TV wuxia drama, "The Bride With White Hair", by inserting a twist.
Jaynestars reported that rumours have been spreading that Nicky Wu has requested the broadcast station for permission to add in an extra ending for his drama's finale in order to gain an increase in viewership. Sources revealed that the new ending will contain a twist that will change the fate of all its characters especially Zhuo Yi Hang (played by Wu himself).
Meanwhile, fans are divided about the choice. While some have expressed anticipation for the surprise ending, others are cynical about Wu's final attempt to woo viewers.
Facing competition from the talent show, "The Voice of China", Hunan TV and the drama's main production companies, Phoenix Legend Films and Beijing Dao Cao Xiong Film and Television have been desperate to bring the faltering ratings back up. Although "The Bride with White Hair" performed decently and did not flop since the beginning, the ratings were still considered too low for the broadcaster's expectations.
