8 Oct – Nearly two months of hiatus due to her nude photos that were exposed in the Justin Lee sex scandal, the public seemed to have forgiven Maggie Wu and wants her to return to the acting scene.
As reported on Popular Asians website, despite media speculations that the scandal might have hurt her career, it looks like the 29-year-old actress' fame has risen with the scandal and her praiseworthy performance in the new drama, "Heaven Show", seemed to propel the actress' popularity in a more positive light.
In "Heaven Show" - a joint TV drama production between Guangdong Southern Pilot Video Spread Co. and the Beijing Huasheng Goldborn International Media Co, Wu plays the role of Yuen Sirong, a pretty young woman from a rich family who lacks the pretension of a rich girl. Portraying a CEO, she is mature and sister-like, and equally convincing as a girlfriend. Maggie's performance was viewed to be close to perfection when switching from one personality to another.
The executive producer of the show said Maggie's hard work in acting paid off as she portrayed the many sides of a wild, self-centred, and strong woman perfectly. Even Netizens argued that Maggie Wu outperformed Korean star Han Ji-hye in the drama and applauded her improvement in acting.
In related news, it was reported that Maggie Wu will not be joining the ten other women who are currently filing rape charges against Justin Lee in court.
