31 Aug - With the rising popularity of "Gangnam Style" around the globe, it was reported that its singer PSY could very well have earned a profit of over US$10 million with the song.
According to Allkpop, a data provided by the Gaon Charts shows that the singer has gained a total of US$76,000 from "Gangnam Style" alone – US$360,000 from music downloads, US$350,000 from albums sales and US$42,000 from streaming. It should be noted that the numbers are slowly increasing, with PSY possibility ending up with about US$1.5 to US$2 million.
Adding to that, approximately 30,000 people attended PSY's concert "Summer Stand" on 11 August, which was estimated to have pulled in revenue amounting to US$3 million, while his 10 endorsement deals after "Gangnam Style" may have raked in about US$5 million.
All of these totalled brings his grand total to well over US$10 million, prompting netizens to joke that PSY could actually buy property in Gangnam now!
