8 Feb – After much speculations, reports and ridiculous rumours, TVB actor Raymond Lam finally announced that he is indeed dating the 19 year-old Karena Ng.
Jayne Stars reported that while attending the TVB Golden Viva Spectacular Event on 6 February, the actor finally stepped up and confirmed his relationship with the 19 year-old actress, hoping to put a stop to the last three weeks of negative press regarding his "BB".
Confirming that the actress is the "BB" in question and that they are currently dating, Raymond said, "I have never explained things that are non-related to my job. However, recent news reports have affected the people that I love, including her and her family."
The actor revealed that they have been together for a period of time and Karena has even met his family, but decided to keep the relationship a secret for the sake of privacy.
However, as the rumours continued to spread and became increasingly malicious, Raymond expressed that he had to protect her and "do what a man should do."
Denying that they have been living together and that her family has been living off his family's wealth, he stressed, "I have not even met her family. It is wrong to implicate her family. The most humorous report claimed that I pay for her apartment rent and giving a bad impression of her. I'm a bit unhappy and upset."
The "Love Is... Pyjamas" couple has been the subject of Hong Kong paparazzi since they were spotted on a date together in July 2012. With Karena's high-profile attendance of Raymond's "A Time 4 You" concert in January, rumours sparked that the young actress is ready to flaunt her status as Raymond's girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Karena's manager indicated that the actress agreed with Raymond's statement before the press and the actress will only personally address the media's questions upon her return from filming in Wuxi.
