Well it was only a matter of time but Grazia Daily are super excited to report our very first sighting of McQ Alexander McQueen on an actual person at an actual awards ceremony *squeals*. There was plenty a-frock watching a-happening at The Olivier Awards 2012 with the nation’s finest swapped treading the boards for treading the red carpet as they turned out for the annual event in London last night.

The lady of the night Ruth Wilson, known also for her roles in Luther and Jane Eyre, collected the Best Actress Award for her role in ‘Anna Christie’ and in our opinion, the best dressed too as she rocked a black corseted prom dress from the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection paired with black and burgundy heels, a burgundy clutch and black cuff. Her frock, as seen on the runway just two months ago, had an uber flattering sweetheart neckline and a full skirt with a lace overlay featuring an embroidered rose print.

So not only has Ms Wilson beat all the other A-listers to the punch by being the first spotted in a frock from the inaugural McQ collection, she’s also rumoured to be dating her ‘Anna Christie’ co-star Jude Law! Erm, jealous much! The pair were seen out and about in Venice Beach just last weekend and if you look carefully enough, you can still see Ruth’s tell-tale tan line courtesy of the LA sunshine. But it seems she’s still keeping tight-lipped over their fledgling romance. ‘Doing a play like that you become close to all the people in it. When you’re performing something that is so heightened, you’re bound to remain friends.’ Hmm, we shall see…
