On the afternoon of August 15th, it was announced by their respective agencies that celebrity couple Ryu Seung Bum and Gong Hyo Jin had gone their separate ways earlier this year in April and ended their 10 year relationship.
According to their agencies, both Gong Hyo Jin and Ryu Seung Bum had thought it over carefully before deciding to go their separate ways. As their relationship was made public before and had gotten a lot of blessings and attention from everyone, they were afraid of making public that they were splitting up at one time.
Gong Hyo Jin and Ryu Seung Bum fell in love while filming for SBS drama ‘Splendid Days’ back in 2002. After making their relationship public, they subsequently collaborated for a comedy film ‘Conduct Zero’ in the same year.
Although they had once broken up in 2003, they got back together again in 2008. Ryu Seung Bum also made a cameo in Gong Hyo Jin’s drama ‘Family Ties’ in 2006. Thereafter, there were talks that marriage was next on the cards for the couple who had gotten back together.
In 2008, Gong Hyo Jin and Ryu Seung Bum starred together in the movie ‘Dachimawa Lee’ which was directed by the latter’s brother, Ryu Seung Wan. It was said that because of their work, it helped greatly in helping the couple resolve their differences and get back together.
Thereafter, the two were often seen together in public, attending movie premieres and other official activities. Gong Hyo Jin even spoke fondly about her relationship with Ryu Seung Bum when she was a guest on MBC talk show ‘Knee-Drop Guru’ in July of last year.
Although they are no longer a couple, they are still best friends.
Meanwhile, Gong Hyo Jin’s movie ‘Project 577’ with Ha Jung Woo is set to air in cinemas soon while Ryu Seung Bum is busy filming his movie ‘In Berlin’.
