19 Sep – Sammo Hung has angrily lashed back at reports of him having an affair with a Chinese actress but added that he would not be taking legal action against the tabloids.
According to Jayne Stars, Sammo was angered by reporters who asked him about his alleged affair with 21-year-old Chinese actress Wang Qin Yi when he spent three days and two nights with her in a hotel in China.
"The cultural sector should have morals. What have I not seen?" Sammo said while attending the 70th anniversary of the Emperor Group recently.
"They said that I secretly arrived in Beijing; should I have announced my arrival with drums?" he asked, adding that the report had also wrongly reported his age.
Sammo became more emotional as reporters asked more questions about his relationship with Wang, when he said:
"Do they want me to jump from a building and commit suicide? They will be happy when my family of twelve die [expletive] entirely!" he said.
"We are friends. She respects me a lot. I cannot dine and laugh with women?" he added.
Sammo also said that his wife, Joyce Godenzi, also trusted him and was not angered by the reports. However, he has also vowed not to take any more photos with fans over the incident for fear that it would be twisted by the media.
"I told her that I am very naughty, but only the type that jumps around a lot!" he said.
