Seo In Guk’s Prize Money from ‘Superstar K’ is Sitting in a Bank Untouched
Seo In Guk received large sum of money when he became the winner of Mnet’s Superstar K in 2009.
Four years later, Seo In Guk revealed that his winnings are still sitting in a bank account, completely untouched.
On March 21, Seo In Guk appeared as a guest on KBS’ Happy Together, where he shared the story of his victory on the audition program.
When he explained that the 100 million won that he received as the winner is still sitting in a bank, everyone in the studio became shocked. The MC panel asked if it was to gain interest, but Seo In Guk shook his head.
“I gave all the money to my parents, but they won’t touch the money,” explained Seo In Guk. “Once, my dad had to use 10 million won (approximately 8,900 USD) and asked me if he could use it. I asked him why he was asking me and told him to use it. What made me even angrier is that he used it and then returned the 10 million won back into the account.”
Meanwhile, Seo In Guk also shared about how lived with mice and cockroaches when he first moved out of his parents’ house.
