Seems like the summer of ’13 has marked the start of many beautiful friendships between designers and fashion websites, which of course, come with some new collaborations. Here, we take a look at the latest capsules on the block – Jovian Mandagie for Fashion Valet and Rizalman for Zalora .
Jovian Mandagie on FashionValet (Pre-order Exclusive)
His new womenswear collection, JLuxe, consists of long skirt and blouse combos, combining both prints and plains with delicate, fine embroidery and embellishments. My fav has got to be the floor length camo skirt – it’s eyecatching and looks super interesting on its look book, styled with an extremely feminine baby blue peplum top. There’s a twist for Raya!
Mandagie’s menswear, JHomme, has a colour palette of mostly blues, with some neutral tones thrown in. Though, elbow patches aren’t my favourite kind of detail, I enjoy the little triangular cut-outs on them, and the darker cuff stripes for effect.
Rizalman for Zalora
Can anyone love the use of bold colours and patterns in this collections more than I do? Probably not. Rizalman did a fine job of choosing colours and shapes in this new range of clothing, which is exclusive to Zalora. They were extremely eye catching, but although the knit he used made them look extremely comfy and suitable for most occasions, I do wish he had used a little less of it. Overall though, it was a cheery collection that made me a little happier after seeing it.
Jovian Mandagie’s pre-order exclusive just wrapped up on FashionValet last weekend, but stay tuned for its official collection launch. In the mean time, FashionValet will launch JHijab (Mandagie’s debut scarves collection) around mid-May. Rizalman for Zalora is currently available at a price range of RM400-450.
