13 Oct – Since the end of the "Rocky" franchise with "Rocky Balboa" in 2006, it is expected that with it ends its star, Sylvester Stallone's appearance as a boxer in the film industry, but Warner Bros. Pictures has just announced that they will be pairing the Stallone, 66, up with "Raging Bull" Robert De Niro for a new boxing thriller titled "Grudge Match", according to Deadline.
Peter Segal, who is best known for helming the camera for American comedy hits like "50 First Dates" and "Anger Management", has been hired by Warner Bros. to direct the film, an idea that actually surfaced two years ago. "Entourage" series writer Doug Ellin will work on script.
Besides Stallone and De Niro, "Think Like A Man" actor and stand up-comedian Kevin Hart has also been roped in, and he will play a boxing organizer who gets both of the old-timers back into the ring.
While Stallone may have won hearts with "Rocky", De Niro, 69, proved himself to be of equal with his Oscar-winning turn as the boxer Jake LaMotta in Martin Scorsese's early classic, "Raging Bull", which came out four years after "Rocky".
There is currently no news yet on when shooting for "Grudge Match" will begin.
