11 Sep - Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow is being sued by his former beau, Alice Yu, for not paying the balance of a HK$80 million (approximately SG$12.5 million) commission that was owed to her from a property he sold, according to Jayne Stars.
Alice, who was formerly a financial consultant for Chow's The Star Overseas Limited, had claimed that Chow had not paid the rest of the 10 per cent commission for a mansion he sold, which she claimed to be worth HK$800 million (approximately SG$125 million).
According to her writ, she said that Chow had only paid her HK$10 million (approximately SG$1.6 million) earlier this year and still owed her the remaining HK$70 million (approximately SG$11.2 million).
She reportedly decided to take legal action against Chow for not paying the balance since that last payment in March.
Chow and Yu had been dating for 13 years, which started when Yu met Chow as a fan, before she was appointed as his financial consultant. Yu is the daughter of the founder of HKC Holdings Limited and it was through her influence that she advised Chow to build the mansion as part of development project with another development company.
Although the couple broke off in March 2010, Yu continued to serve Chow until September last year.
