Karan Johar, who is presently shooting Student of The Year in Bangkok, has announced the release date of his upcoming directorial venture. SOTY will release on October 19, this year.
Karan made the announcement on Twitter, writing, "STUDENT OF THE YEAR will release on the 19th of OCTOBER 2012...it launches 3 newcomers...Sidharth Malhotra....Varun Dhawan and Alia bhatt!!"
Interestingly, this is KJo's first film, which he is directing, without Shah Rukh Khan in the main lead. However, SRK still is an integral part of the film as her is co-producing it, along with Johar.
SOTY marks the debut of Alia Bhatt, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, son of director David Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra.
