"Triumph In The Skies II" criticised for airline mistakes

28 Jul – Despite its current success on television, it doesn't mean that "Triumph In The Skies II" is entirely free of criticisms, as it was reported on HK Channel.

In addition to complaints about the theme song sung by George Lam, the series was recently criticised for various errors in regards to pilots' etiquette and airline safety.

Several netizens commented that include the usage of ceramic cups by the pilots in the drama is a mistake, as it is a well-known fact that airplanes only allow plastic and paper cups for safety reasons.

There was also a complaint regarding a scene involving Ron Ng and Kenneth Ma's characters arguing about taking alternative route due to weather change, completely neglecting Julian's role as the actual captain.

A netizen stated, "In addition to that, Ron was actually the pilot flying the plane, he should not be the person who is responsible for receiving weather reports from Skylette's radio station."

Netizens also commented on the fact that the pilots were all eating together instead of taking turns for breaks, as well as turning on the lights while flight attendants performing routine checks.

Hong Kong pilot Tam Mun Ho, one of the top commenters on the series' Facebook page, stated that although airline professionals were on set to help during filming, inaccuracies may occur if the producer made any changes to the script afterwards.
