TVB responds to Jerry Chien's criticism

11 Jul – TVB recently gave their response to Taiwanese producer Jerry Chien's criticism regarding the station's drama adaptation about the goddess of the Luo River, "Where The Legend Begins", reported People.

Jerry, who is also producing the currently-airing "Xin Luo Shen", another adaptation of the legend of the Luo River goddess, commented that TVB's 2002 adaptation of the legend was poorly done and had no respect for history.

To this, the company released an official statement on 9 July, stating, "TVB has explained this before. History is only used as a reference in many TVB historical dramas and most of them are fictional."

""Where The Legend Begins" has a record of great ratings and commendation. If it is true that the production was poor, it will not gain a huge following. We believe that the viewers have their own opinions regarding the issue, thus we will not be bothered by his comments."

However, Jerry Chien was quick to clarify his statement, saying that he was merely giving an opinion and had no intentions of disparaging the station.
