TVB to sign Miss Hong Kong's 4th place winner

6 Sep – It was revealed that one of the 2013 Miss Hong Kong pageant contestants, Virginia Lau, has been shortlisted to become a resident artiste of TVB.

According to Oriental Daily website, despite not placing in the top three positions, Virginia, who is a graduate of the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, has been made an offer to join the company due to her experience in acting, from advertisements to mini movies.

The news was confirmed by TVB senior executive, Virginia Lok, who stated, "TVB has arranged for a meeting among the executives and producers to sign pageant winners. This time around, all of the Miss Hong Kong contestants are well-received by family viewers, especially Virginia Lau. She has the makings of an actress."

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old denied feeling disappointed at having placed fourth in the competition, saying that there is still a lot of room for improvement in her.

When asked about her future plans, she expressed, "I am interested to pursue a Master's degree, or becoming an artiste."
