‘American Idol’ Han Hee Jun Starts Over on ‘K-Pop Star 3’

After getting to the Top 9 of American Idol, Han Hee Jun is starting over again, auditioning for SBS’ K-Pop Star 3.

On November 24, K-Pop Star 3 kicked off its new season with new talent as well as returning ones. Included in the bunch was Han Hee Jun, who surprised everyone by making an appearance.

Despite starting a career in the US, Han Hee Jun decided he wanted to be active in Korea, becoming a trainee for two years. But he was eliminated from MBC’s The Great Birth auditions, making him return back to America.

“But no matter how well things worked out for me, I’m a Korean person who eats Korean food, who talks about Korean, and whose first language was Korean, and yet, why don’t the Korean people know me?” said Han Hee Jun. He said he decided to audition for K-Pop Star 3 to search for his identity, picking now as the hardest time in his life.

As expected, Han Hee Jun impressed the judges, not only with his singing but also his wit and comfortable charms, which allowed Han Hee Jun to go onto the next round with flying colors.
