Jermaine Paul was crowned Season 2's winner on Tuesday night's "The Voice," and 33-year-old rising star said he owes his success to his "Voice" coach, Blake Shelton.
"I picked the right guy," a beaming Jermaine told Access Hollywood of Blake, following "The Voice" season finale in Los Angeles on Tuesday. "Blake has been there every step of the way. [There's] something about a coach, you know, I've played sports in my life and the thing you look for in a coach is that he doesn't -- he just lets the players play, he gives them advice, tidbits, but if you're a player, you should know how to play the game.

"I thank God for my choice," he added.
The talented father of four, who has performed as a backup singer for Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige, sang one of Blake's songs ("God Gave Me You") on Monday night's show as a tribute/thank you to his coach and Jermaine said the lyrics hit close to home about what a blessing it was to work with the country star.

"Just like the song, God gave me [Blake] and he makes a really good coach, man," he told Access . "[He] just gave me all those tidbits, all the little information I needed and, and just watching him I've been learning some really cool mannerisms and you know just how to deal with people and just enjoy life."
Adding, "He does a great job of just being, being normal and being regular, and that's the way I want to be."
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Christina Aguilera's opera singer Chris Mann came in fourth on Tuesday's finals, while former "Mickey Mouse Club" member Tony Lucca (coached by Adam Levine) placed third.
