2 Oct – Members of the media are convinced that "Dangerous Liaisons" stars, Zhang Ziyi and Cecilia Cheung are not the best of friends.
Popular Asians website reported that during the movie's Beijing premiere on 27 September, Zhang Ziyi and Cecilia Cheung were both interviewed separately – with Zhang also attending an extra interview with Jang Dong-gun. However, both Cheung and Zhang refused to be interviewed together.
It was also revealed that the two actresses attended the premiere separately and avoided meeting each other to the extent that the media were unable to get them to pose next to each other.
The conflict allegedly started earlier in the pre-production stage, when both stars disagreed with their scripts. The two actresses then did not appear simultaneously in promotional activities, with rumours spreading that the two were avoiding each other.
Meanwhile, directed by Korean's own Hu Jin-ho, "Dangerous Liaisons" is an adaptation from the French novel of the same name, and is the fifth motion picture adaptation of the novel.
